Family
I met my wife Lindsey in college when we both attended Indiana University. We graduated together holding hands and moved to Louisville for me to begin my career and for her to begin her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Our family grew when we decided to adopt our first puppy, Luna and then again nearly a year later when we adopted Kingsley.
Career
My professional career began when I enlisted in to the U.S. Marine Corps right out of high school. As an ambitious young man I was drawn to the Marine Corps' reputation as America's most elite military force. My physical capabilities, mental endurance, and character were constantly tested, evaluated, and pushed beyond their limits.
Once I graduated from college, I started working for Humana as a Wellness Engagement Consultant for the employer wellness program HumanaVitality (now Go365). This role required the use of my expertise in health and wellness to train members not only on how to engage with the program, but the benefits behind it. Managing multiple regions of the 250,000+ account, I was personally responsible for member engagement for approximately 60,000 lives. This required a constantly evolving strategy, a lot of travel, and creative thinking. Cultivating and maintaining many long standing professional relationships became vitally important to my success in this role.

After Humana I began working for the Alliance for a Healthier Generation as the Healthy Schools Program Manager for the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Here, I️ had the opportunity of working with school districts across Kentucky on all of their school wellness initiatives to ensure that the school was creating the healthiest environment possible for students and staff. I was responsible for selling the benefits of the program to new school districts, recruiting them on to my workload, then training them on the Healthy Schools Program to ensure their success.
Currently, I have decided to go back to school and am studying at the University of Wisconsin to earn my Master’s in Health & Wellness Management. Recently, I earned my faculty designation from the Wellness Council of America (WELCOA). This designation is reserved for the best-trained wellness professionals in the country—professionals who have completed four or more WELCOA certification programs. The WELCOA Faculty designation recognizes those who work to maintain an innovative and results-oriented approach to building wellness programs that change lives and transform organizations.
Hobbies
Recently, I have began experimenting with woodworking. After acquiring some old wooden pallets and going through the slow process of dismantling them I have managed to build a couple hanging shelves, a king size headboard, a mini bar, a vertical garden, and a couple planter boxes. I make no claims to the quality of these items, other than that they have yet to fall apart on us.
My wife and I enjoy watching movies together, every year we try and make it through the movies nominated for the Oscar's Best Picture. We try and balance this out by letting our dogs wear us out on walks and hiking trips. Our longest hike with our two dogs, has been 13 miles. Also, we make frequent trips to Bloomington, Indiana for football and basketball games supporting our alma mater. Go Hoosiers!
I have made a career out of wellness, and this all started with my own personal passion for fitness and health. I have built my own little gym in our garage and do my best to stay in shape and am constantly looking for a new personal record. Which is very helpful for when I spend too much time on the computer or messing with some new technology. Technology interests me almost as much as health and wellness, I built this website on my own and have become quite proficient with image editing software like Photoshop. Unsatisfied with our wedding video, I (with my wife's direction) decided to create our own video exactly the way we wanted it.
